Thanksgiving 2009
Customer, Jan McDonald called me on Thanksgiving and left this message on my answering
machine:
"I wanted to tell the thing that I am most thankful today is that you did such a
beautiful job on my flute I thank you so much it really plays great".
Jan is a very fine flutist
and plays a beautiful Haynes flute.

September 2009 Internet Customer from Massachusetts sent me her 30 year old clarinet
that was last played in high school :
Hi Steve:

The clarinet has landed--and my, it's a thing o' beauty!

Seriously, it looks sooooo much better than it did when I sent it off, and I
can't wait to put it together (thank you for the fresh cork lube, btw!) and
attempt to play it.

Need to get new reeds first, however (the thought of using 30-year-old reeds
just makes me cringe ever so slightly). Happily, we have a music store right
downtown.

Much, much obliged. A pleasure doing business with you. And so on and so
forth.

All good and then some,

Regards,
Ann

Internet Customer from Staten Island, NY
Just writing to say thanks and heap some praise on you for the terrific work you did on my
Soprano Sax. I was about to give up this horn for dead, and then you came to the rescue and
breathed new life into it. Now it's more horn than I ever imagined it could be.

The horn is a "Ponte Artiste," not a name brand for sure, and it's construction is a little odd. When
I first got the horn (more than 20 years ago I'm afraid to admit) it played OK. It was cheap and I
kinda liked the sound, but it was always a struggle to play in tune. At first you weren't sure that
you could have a major impact on it, but you worked on it for me anyway.

After your skillful touch both the tone and intonation are now excellent! It blows freely and I can't
stop playing it! I don't know how you did it, but you made this into a real horn.

And finally, the cost to resurrect this horn was far less than I would have paid elsewhere,
considering the amount of sweat and care that was put into it. You truly are a craftsman!

I can't wait to have you work your magic on my other horns, and I will spread the word far and
wide about your talents to my sax playing friends.

Sincerely,
Russ P

Thank you very much for recommending the
kangaroo pads during my recent sax checkup.  As
you know, I was having some serious problems with sticking pads in the left hand section of my
horn.  The application of the kangaroo skin pads has completely eliminated the problem.  The horn
plays better than ever and feels great

Thanks again Steve.
Pat

Hi Steve. I just wanted to write and let you know that the
flute is doing great! I have been playing
it and teaching with it for the past two weeks and I can hear and feel a huge difference. It feels like
it did when I purchased it back in college! I am so glad that I was able to find someone on Long
Island that I trust with my
Powell; it is a pain to send it to Boston every time it needs work done!
Thank you so much for your professionalism.
Jessica

Your overhaul on my super balanced was perfect. It's been over a year and the horn is screamin'.
A repairman who can play. Cool!

you for. But, what a job!!

Hey Steve,

I just got the results of my audition in school; I got the first chair spot in the top band at Northport
High School. Thanks for the advice and the great repair job, they both really helped.  Talk to you
later.

Internet Customer Kevin, from Ohio:
Steve did an unbelievable job in bringing my alto sax back to life. He really cares about his work
and was very fair in all his dealings. Highly recommended!

Internet Customer Mark B from Lexington, South Caroline:
I received the (repaired) saxophone (via UPS) and it sounds the best it has ever sounded. The
best in 10 years...Almost a completely different tone. I have to get used to it. It is much broader
and richer, like my new Yamaha Alto. My wife was amazed. I can hardly wait to play it. The key
action is different, better. Thanks again. Anyone I run across who is looking for instrument repair, I
will encourage them to send it to you

Steverino,
Thanks for a super job on my Selmer Mark VI alto.  The sax has never played better
